Each time I go to San Francisco, and I’ve been there at least 20 times, I manage to find a new neighborhood to explore. On my most recent visit, my Dad introduced me to Union Street. We found parallel parking along the street, filled the meter with coins, and then explored the shops and restaurants.
Our mission on Union Street was to find a place for a light bite and drink before heading out-of-town. We walked past designer shops BCBG Maxazaria, MAC, American Apparel, and also quaint boutique shops Marmalade and Ambiance. Lucky for me Ambiance was having a huge sale. Yet, we didn’t deter from our mission, resisting the tarot psychic reader and Himalyan arts shops, and ended up at Caffe Union grabbing a table by the window – perfect for people watching. We shared the caprese salad which did not disappoint – it was farm fresh and flavorful.
When we set back out to find that store with the big sale, we passed by a pet boutique Moulian Pouch where you can get your diva doggie a birthday cake. While doggie is getting pampered mommy can get waxed – we passed a least 3 of these salons. If I had more time, and was with girlfriends, I would have loved to stop off at Spa Radiance because, from the street, it looked like a perfect relaxing zenful spa to escape the real world for an hour.
But no time to stop, off to find the sale at Ambiance. While I shopped for blouses and dresses Dad managed to find a bookstore nearby to keep him occupied.
I decided my next trip to San Francisco should be a girlfriends getaway. We will stay in Fillmore District, take in some wine and jazz, and then shop and spa along Union Street, and I’ll bring my dog. Be on the lookout for that post soon!
