It’s officially springtime, and that means the Carlsbad Ranch Flower Fields are in full bloom. A working ranch for more than 60 years, this world-famous attraction on the sunny coast of north San Diego county, is open seven days a week (9am to 6pm). While you can see the flowers from the freeway, nearby streets, and parking lot, the tour is a must do for anyone who appreciates the beauty of hillside’s bursting with vibrant colors, and especially for budding photographers ($11.00 adult ticket price).
Over 100,000 people arrive each year to explore the 50+ acres and absorb the rainbow rows of splendor, which, like a beautiful butterfly, has a temporarily lifespan – the blooms will last eight to ten weeks. Special events are held in the fields throughout the season including music, arts and crafts, and gardening demonstrations.
Just down the street from Legoland and the Carlsbad beaches, The Flower Fields, activities in Carlsbad, California, can easily fill a full week. Here’s a bonus – next door to The Flower Fields is the Carlsbad Premium Outlets.

I love Europe! Stories and pictures bring back fond memories. I hope to go back this fall. The flower fields are in bloom only for about 8 weeks in the spring. I hope you get a chance to see them one day

One of my absolute favorite places to take my boys, especially when they were really tiny.
